Visit Swiss Alps
The Alps occupy the biggest part of Switzerland territory, a total of 65% of the country’s surface is covered by these imposing and beautiful mountains. Despite the large territory that the Swiss Alps reserved in Switzerland, this less than a quarter of the surface of the entire mountain chain. The Alps spans over 8 countries ( France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Slovenia, and Switzerland) but in Switzerland, you can find 48 out of the 82 over 4000 meters tops of the entire mountain range.
The mountain chain
The mountain chain is divided into two big parts, the West Swiss Alps and the East Swiss Alps. In the West part you will find the highest peaks and passes like Jungfrau, Montblanc, which is the highest point of the Swiss Alps, Matterhorn, Monte Leone, while in the East part you will find a region with a beautiful countryside, salt mines, and ice caves and if you arrive in the summer or spring you will be amazed by the variety of wildflowers and incredible colors.
In the north, the Swiss Alps are crossed by three beautiful rivers, Rhône, Rhine and Inn while the Southside you will find the Ticino River. The biggest dams in the world are formed in mountains, naturally or artificially which makes the Swiss Alps a perfect place to find crystal clear lakes like Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, Walensee, Blausee and others.
The lakeside resorts are beautifully organized with activities like fishing, water skiing, cultural attractions, public gardens and many more. Each lake comes with a unique set of activities and incredible sightseeing. The transportation system in Switzerland is excellent so access to all of these beautiful places is done very easily.
The first explorers came in theSwiss Alps at the beginning of the XIX century when a group of explorers arrived here becoming the first tourist of the Swiss Alps. That opened the way to the country that has the most amazing places you can to do winter sports in Europe.
Places like Valais, Berner, Oberland, St. Moritz, and Graubünden where you will find beautiful ski resorts and a variety of terrain with top quality slopes done for amateurs and professionals.
Hiking is considered by many to be the most beautiful way the Swiss Alps can be seen. The trails are very well created and linked so even if you go on the long-distance trail you will be able to walk for days and finding on your way food, shelter with extraordinary views and very nice hosts.
Swiss Alps can also be seen by train in a more relaxing way. The trains are equipped with big panorama windows which makes the train trip an amazing experience.

The Aletsch Glacier is known as the Top of Europe hosts the highest railway station in Europe at a height of 3454m from where you can find the beautiful mountain tops of Jungfrau and Mönch.
